Identity Statement

This website, and the 'Be In the Frame!' campaign is organised and run by the Friends of the Greenwich Millennium Embroideries.

The group has decided not to incur the costs of becoming and remaining a registered charity but it is run on charitable principles and no committee member receives any remuneration. All proceeds, after direct fundraising and administration costs only, will be devoted to purposes set out below.

The addresses to which correspondence about the Embroideries, this appeal, and donations should be sent are given on the contacts page.

Purpose of donated funds
Funds are raised for the following purposes:

  • To purchase archival frames to the specification of the Greenwich Heritage Centre or
  • To donate money to the Heritage Centre to enable it to purchase the frames direct or
  • To pay for all costs approved by the committee in connection with the running of the organisation and the fundraising campaign, within the guidelines laid down by the Charity Commission or
  • To create and display a Website devoted to the Embroideries or
  • To pay any costs needed to preserve the embroideries now or in the future or
  • To fund the creation of additional panels in the future or
  • To pay any costs relating to displaying the Embroideries in a permanent or temporary location or
  • To pay any costs relating to storage of the Embroideries or
  • To make donations or payments to any body undertaking any of the above
